Nicely written, informative and motivating narrative about the author's success in getting slim and fit. Piqued my interest in Chef Dispirito's books.
This book tells a real story about the author, Masie Conner. She was a overweight young lady who grew up in the deep south near the Flordia/Georgia border line. One day, She decided she wanted to feel good about herself so she decided to go on a diet to become healthy. She decided to do the 5 day diet. Within 5 days of starting the diet, she lost 5 pounds. With this diet, you lose a pound per day. Over a period of 6 months, she lost a total of 80 pounds. This is a great book for anyone who is willing or struggling to lose weight.

Masie Conner's book 5 Pounds in 5 Days Diet The True Story of How I Lost 80 Ibs in 6 Months With the Pound a Day Diet, gave me a huge amount of inspiration and a belief that I can also lose weight. Her plan doesn't focus on the overall amount that you need to lose, but on the babysteps necessary to lose just one pound a day. Masie's plan is based on real food, not gimmicks or fads. The plan outlined in the book is based on a very low calorie intake 5 days a week, and a higher caloric intake the other two days. I love that this would allow me to eat more on my days off, when I'm typically more hungry. The included recipes sound really good, and I can't wait to give this a try. I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a plan to lose weight and get healthy.
I really enjoyed reading this book by Masie Conner on how to lose 5 pounds in 5 days, which is like losing one pound per day! Ms. Conner gives a lot of helpful and inspiring information on how to follow her diet. In 6 months time, she lost 80 pounds! That is amazing for those of us who need the help to lose the weight and keep up with a real diet. I found this book to be very encouraging and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is struggling with the thought of dieting and losing weight! A great read!!
I loved Maise' s story of perseverance through her getting healthy journey. Weight loss is a challenge but she encourages others to not throw in the towel. I love how she shares her success of finding a diet that worked well with her lifestyle changes and she shares what was the motivating force that drove her to finally get serious about losing the weight for good.

Her story excited and encouraged me. My decision to get serious was also due in part to health reasons that can turn ugly if I ignore the seriousness of it.
Maise is truly a motivational inspiration to all and the delicious recipes that she share are a bonus.
